Sketch II Challenge

It's time for a new challenge here at Crafty Boots Challenges, a few months ago we had a sketch challenge, it was so popular we have decided to have another one.  Here is our new sketch:

You many remember from last time that there are one or two additional rules for our sketch challenge:
  • you can rotate the sketch and you can re size the elements if you wish.
  • do not move the elements around too much, the original sketch layout should still be recognisable.
  • you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc.  Just as long as the original sketch design is obvious in whatever you make.
Here are a few ideas from our fabulous Design Team:

Fair and Square Mid Challenge Reminder

Welcome back to Crafty Boots Challenges, where it is time for our mid challenge reminder. Our current challenge is 'Fair and Square'. We have had some fabulous entries for this challenge and the Design Team are really enjoying seeing all of them.

The winners of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers. Lozzy and Julia were winners of our recent 'Black and White' Challenge. As you can see, they are both very talented card makers, check out their blogs, you will be in for a treat.

My name is Lorraine but I'm known really to everyone as Lozzy. I'm 45 years old, live in the UK and have a full time career. I have been Crafting now, as my hobby, for about 5 years and love every minute of it. My main passion is card making using rubber and digi stamps as I love to colour. I mainly use Spectrum Noir pens, but do have a tendency to use my Pro Marker pens for a change, as you get different results with the different pens. I'm still learning a lot of crafty things and I try and vary my designs from CAS, Frilly and Flowery, to a bit on the darker side, but it just depends on when I look at an image to what I am going to create. Last thing is that I would like to thank Crafty Boots for having me as one of their Guest Designer.

Julia

I am a happy wife and mother of four children - ages 21, 18, 14 and 12 for which I am very grateful. I have been a Stampin' Up Demonstrator for almost 9 years (in October) which I really enjoy. I also work part time in the Parish Office of my church where our family is very active. Before I had children I was a teacher of infants and special needs children, so I really enjoy teaching cardmaking and scrapbooking to adults and children. I'm from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia - a holiday destination! Lucky me!

Our lovely ladies have been very busy to and here are a few more ideas from them:

Fair and Square Challenge

It's time for a new challenge here at Crafty Boots Challenges, our theme for the next two weeks is 'Fair and Square'.

How would you fill this space?    You literally have a blank canvas.

As always with our challenges, you can use any materials you like, to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc, etc and, as you can see, many of these items are just perfect for our square theme.  It is entirely up to you how you choose to interpret the theme.

As always, our fabulous Design Team have been busy making projects to inspire you, but before we take a look at their gorgeous work, we have another new member of the Crafty Boots family to introduce you to.  Chance joins our team this week with this beautiful scrapbook page.  Please make sure you give her a warm Crafty Boots welcome, this is what she has to say about herself:

Hey, I'm Chance and I'm a 21 year old project lifer/scrapbooker from Wales. I have been documenting memories for 2 years now and don't plan on stopping! I'm excited to be part of the DT and can't wait for all the challenges.

You can find more of my work on instagram @chancejordan and at studio calico via this link

Life's a Beach or My Holiday Mid Challenge Reminder

It is time for our mid challenge reminder here at Crafty Boots Challenges, the current theme is summer holidays, we have called this challenge 'Life's a Beach', but you do not have to restrict yourself to sun and sand, your project could be about any thing to do with holidays.

The winners of this Challenge will be given the opportunity to be featured in a future challenge as a Guest Designers.  Katrina, Diane and Jackie were all winners of our recent 'Father's Day' Challenge. As you can see,  they are very talented card makers, check out their blogs, you will be in for a treat.

Katrina

I was born and bred in Cornwall but currently live in Somerset with my lovely husband Will and my loony cat Millie. I work part time as a Receptionist and run a card making club once a month.

I've been doing some sort of craft since I was a girl when my Mum taught me how to knit. Since I would buy whichever wool was on offer, I made some " interesting" jumpers when I was a student. I also flirted briefly with candle making when I was a young teen, melting the wax in a saucepan on my Mum's cooker. I was making a pink candle one afternoon but thought the cerise was a bit bright so to tone it down a bit I added some water to the molten wax. Colour me surprised (and pink) when it exploded all over the kitchen.

In 2006 I was at a loose end after recovering from arm injuries. My friend Kristi made her own cards so I thought I'd give it a try and I quickly got hooked - it's fantastic therapy if you're feeling a bit down. I love stamping as there are so many different looks you can achieve, and my favourite (when I can manage it) is colouring in. I also have a tiny addiction to decorative papers. And ribbons. And buttons.

Diane

Hello, my name is Diane Hover and I am from the US in the great lakes state of Michigan  I have to admit I am addicted to paper crafting.  I love every aspect of it and love trying new techniques when I have time.  I have been making paper crafts so long now, I am not even sure when I began, but I think it was when I was sewing crafts I started noticing beautiful papers that reminded me of fabric...I think I now have as much paper as I do fabric.  I have as much fun buying the products as I do using them!!
Thank you Crafty Boots for having me as your guest designer!!

Hi, my name is Jackie Cornfield. I am a happily married mother of two and grandma of one. All girls and we adore them!

Card making/paper craft is a massive passion of mine. I try to do it daily! I am on several Design Teams and just love it; blogging has become my major addiction! There is no cure!!

Our Design Team ladies have also been busy making projects to inspire you.

Life's a Beach/Summer Holidays

Hello and welcome back to Crafty Boots Challenges, where a new Challenge starts today.  The children have started their long summer break from school and August is traditionally a time when many UK families take their annual summer holiday, so we have called this Challenge 'Life's a Beach/Summer Holidays', but it is intended to be more that just beach scenes, it is more a pictorial essay of 'what I did on my holiday'.

As always with our challenges, you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc.  It is entirely up to you how you choose to interpret the theme.

Our fabulous Design Team have been busy making projects to inspire you, but before we take a look I should like to introduce you to a new member of the Crafty Boots family.  I know you are going to give her a warm welcome, so please drop by her blog and leave her some of that encouragement all of our followers are well known for.

Our newest member is called Emma and, according to her blog, she is into glitter and gold, being by the sea, tea, adventures and Netflix.  Seems to me that Emma really is our sort of person.  This is what Emma has to say about herself:

Hi, I'm Emma and I'm so excited to join the Crafty Boots Challenges Design Team. I began scrapping earlier this year when I started Project Life in January and since then my obsession has grown from there.  I've recently completed my first 12x12 traditional layout and I'm hooked!  I can't wait for all the challenges and to see what everyone creates!

We should like to give you the opportunity to join in the fun at Crafty Boots Challenges and, therefore, we are offering Guest Design Team spots to the winner and two runners up of this challenge.

This challenge will remain open until 12 Noon on Sunday, 16 August. There are very few rules but, if you would like to read them for yourself, you will find them here.

We are looking forward to seeing your projects, good luck.
